Frequently asked questions

What is a filming safari?
A filming safari is a game drive planned around capturing footage and photos, with time and positioning that suit cameras rather than just sightseeing. It suits photographers, content creators and production crews. Our offer includes a free 4K drone and filming permit, subject to the park rules below.
Is the drone and filming permit really included?
Our filming offer includes a free 4K drone and filming permit. Drone and filming rules are set by the park authorities, and permits are required, so exactly what is permitted depends on the park and the date. We confirm the details for your trip in writing before you pay.
Can I bring my own drone?
Possibly, but check the rules first. Drone use in Tanzania's parks is regulated and permits are required, and conditions can differ by park and change over time. Ask us before you travel and we will tell you what is needed for your equipment and dates.
Who owns the footage I shoot?
Ask us at the planning stage. If the drone or permit comes from us, or you plan commercial use, we agree the details of footage use in writing so there are no surprises. Put your intended use in your enquiry on the contact page.
When is the best time to film wildlife in Tanzania?
Typically, the dry season from about June to October gives clear sightlines and animals gathering at water. The Serengeti's calving season, usually around January to March, offers dramatic predator action. Green-season light can be beautiful too. Tell us your subject and we will suggest the timing.
How do I book a filming safari?
Send your dates, crew size, equipment list and the shots you want through the contact page or WhatsApp +255 676 106 802. We will reply with a route and written quote. See the filming safaris page for what the offer covers.
